The fishing vessel Explorer S has been chartered to undertake the survey of the GAB trawl fishery. Each year the survey has been conducted over two months, 39 tows during February and 37 tows during March.  Observers onboard recorded the catch of species for each tow, and collected otoliths and fish lengths of Bight redfish and deepwater flathead. The catch and length frequency data will now feed into the stock assessment model.
