Blue warehou trigger limit in EAST reached

07/12/2009

Blue warehou is managed as a single species but pseudo managed as two stocks, east and west.  The latitude split is 147 E.  Both stocks are subject to rebuilding strategies.  In November SETFIA noted advice from AFMA that the first trigger limit under the rebuilding strategy had been reached in the WEST.  The trigger limit in the EAST has now also been reached.

What this means?

  1. All blue warehou catches (EAST and WEST) must be reported weekly to Tim Emery(timothy.emergy@afma.gov.au) or  02-62255368  02-62255368 .   Catches are reported weekly due to the time lag in log book data.

  2. There should be no targetting of blue warehou
